Why?

Because several outcomes from the strategy workshop back in August this year are shaping into tangible results which will come into effect together with the new membership year starting in January 2008.

TOP 10 Reasons to Offer Assessments

Adapted by Carole Lewis for HKICC from an article by Roberta Hill MBA, PCC, from http://www.wabccoaches.com/

    1. Everyone is doing it.
    2. Sometimes a client requests an assessment.
    3. An assessment is a tangible product.
    4. Providing service packages can generate more income.
    5. An assessment may leverage other business.
    6. Certification in an assessment can confirm your expertise.
    7. The topic of assessments itself opens up discussions.
    8. Some form of neutral input about a client is desirable.
    9. Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.
    10. Working closely with a tool not only helps to make you more of an expert in that area-it also forces you to look closely at yourself.

You Might Just Get What You Need

Adapted by Carole Lewis for HKICC from an article entitled 'You Only Get What You are Ready to Receive' by Dwayne Gilbert  from http://ezinearticles.com/

Each and every one of us is at a different place in our understanding and lives, and in our ability to understand and utilize specific lessons in our life. You will only ever receive what you are prepared to receive and understand from where you are at any given moment in your life.

Even reading this right now, you will only get what you are ready to know and understand. Reading this again a week or two from now, you will get something completely different out of it, if you are ready to receive something else and something new. Open yourself up in order to be able to receive more.

    OUR FANTASTIC SPONSORS

    Dear Readers,

"When the student is ready [to gain insight about themselves], the teacher appears". This oft-cited quote lies at the heart of use of assessments in coaching. Some coaches, like our member profilee Martha Collard, are certified in an impressive number of psychometrics, while others shun any sort of assessment whatsoever. Read this month's Top 10 to learn more about why delivering information on a client's natural preferences and strengths is greatly beneficial - but only when they're really ready to absorb and act on the insight.

As ever, your contributions are more than welcome. I look forward to hearing more about what you want to read.

    Happy reading,
