Meet our Coach Members: Michelle Chapman

What led you into coaching?
During my first NLP training course I experienced the power and effectiveness of the techniques and knew instantly that this was what I wanted to do with my life. Whilst I had a successful career in marketing I knew I could make a bigger difference to others by assisting them in letting go of negative emotions and anything that holds them back from achieving greatness.
Who do you typically coach?
I coach anyone who wants something different in their life from what they currently have, as long as they are ready to change and are prepared to do whatever it takes to get the result they want. Often people looking to improve their professional performance or make career changes relate to this, or those wanting to make significant changes in their personal life. I have also worked with people in overcoming emotional issues around food and eating.
Describe the tools and techniques you use
I use techniques that bring about maximum change quickly for the client. Generally I use a combination of techniques and interventions including NLP, Time Line TherapyTM and practical behavioral work to interrupt unhelpful strategies. I use Time Line TherapyTM with almost every client because it is a really powerful intervention that releases negative emotions that belong in the past. If it’s relevant I also teach my clients self-hypnotic techniques to help them find peace and relaxation.
Tell us something unique about your coaching style
I work with my clients to make significant changes in a very short period of time. I’m pretty tough as a coach and my clients appreciate the way I don’t let them off the hook until they’ve got the results they want. When clients come to me I’m always looking to resolve the root cause of their presenting problem. I can work with the client to resolve the surface level problem that they came to see me for and they would go away happy, but if I assist them in resolving the underlying problem it will positively change their life!
How much of your time do you spend coaching?
I divide each week into time spent coaching and time spent training as, in additional to coaching I also run NLP Practitioner and Time Line TherapyTM Practitioner certification trainings for other people who want to use these techniques in their work.
What do you do for fun and relaxation?
I spend a lot of time hiking with my husband and my dog, looking out over the sea and the beautiful Lantau hillside, which gives me a wonderful sense of peace and tranquility. I have a lot of family and friends who come out to visit us from the UK so I enjoy entertaining them and spending time showing them around. I also love scuba diving and traveling to new places.
